AUSTRALIENS

Cinemavixion Review

"Australiens" presents a uniquely Australian take on the alien invasion trope, blending sci-fi action with a healthy dose of absurdist humor. The film's narrative, centering on Andi Gibson's childhood encounter with a UFO and its subsequent escalation 17 years later, is both intriguing and comically chaotic. While the local data omits directorial credit, external sources attribute the vision to Joe Bauer, who also co-wrote the script. The ensemble cast, featuring Rita Artmann and Tamara McLaughlin, brings a relatable energy to the unfolding pandemonium. External data suggests the film garnered some recognition with 5 wins and 9 nominations, hinting at a dedicated effort behind its ambitious premise. Despite its niche appeal and perhaps a lower IMDb rating, "Australiens" offers a spirited, if unconventional, cinematic adventure that champions resilience against extraterrestrial threats and familial quirks.
