AUSTRALIA'S QUEEN OF HONKYTONK | I’M WANITA

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers an intimate look at Wanita Bahtiyar, a Tamworth-based artist who embodies the spirit of a bygone honky-tonk era. Dubbing herself "Australia's Queen Of Honkytonk," Wanita's life is a testament to her idols, characterized by a rough-edged, hard-drinking country music lifestyle. The film chronicles her journey over five tumultuous years as she pursues a final chance at her dream, including a recording session in Nashville. It's a portrait of an artist committed to her vision, seemingly born in the wrong time, chasing a fading dream with unwavering dedication.
