AT HER MAJESTY'S SERVICE - EP 02 | ROYAL RESIDENCIES AND HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS

Cinemavixion Review

This installment of "At Her Majesty's Service" offers a charming and insightful look into the lesser-known facets of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, guided by the engaging presence of Penelope Keith. The episode thoughtfully explores the Queen's official residences across the UK, from the historic Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland to the regal environs of Caernarfon Castle in Wales. Keith's personal connection as a corgi owner adds a delightful warmth when she meets a champion breeder, providing a glimpse into the beloved royal pets' lineage. The documentary skillfully weaves together historical anecdotes, such as the Queen's favourite foods revealed through old menus and the ancient role of the Queen's bugler, with poignant reflections on significant events like the Aberfan disaster. It's a well-researched and warmly presented tribute that highlights the Queen's enduring connection to her people and the institutions that define her service.
