ASTEROID

Cinemavixion Review

Dylan Avery's 2021 film "Asteroid" presents a peculiar blend of domestic drama and impending doom. The narrative centers on a family man, seemingly disconnected from the world around him, who relocates his wife and daughter to a dream home on the edge of a quiet town. Their move, however, coincides with the end of the world, adding a layer of existential dread to their new beginnings. While the film's IMDb rating of 4.2 suggests a divisive reception, its premise offers a unique exploration of human relationships against the backdrop of societal collapse. The performances by Cuyle Carvin, Mattie Jo Cowsert, and Miley Rose anchor the story in relatable, albeit unusual, circumstances. "Asteroid" is a thought-provoking piece that invites audiences to contemplate what truly matters when faced with the ultimate finality.
