ARTIK

Cinemavixion Review

Tom Botchii's 'Artik' plunges viewers into a chilling narrative that blurs the lines between paternal instruction and monstrous legacy. The film masterfully crafts a disturbing portrait of a serial killer, played with unsettling conviction, who grooms his son into his own brutal craft. This dark fairy tale takes a sharp turn when the son's burgeoning innocence finds an unexpected connection with an outsider, introducing a palpable tension that threatens to unravel the carefully constructed world of murder and manipulation. Chase Williamson, Jerry G. Angelo, and Lauren Ashley Carter deliver performances that are both raw and compelling, anchoring the film's descent into psychological horror. With a near-perfect critical reception on Rotten Tomatoes and multiple accolades, 'Artik' stands as a starkly effective exploration of nature versus nurture, and the terrifying inheritance of violence.
