Cinemavixion Review

This documentary-style program, "Armed and Dangerous | How Police Use Dogs in Drug Raids," offers a compelling look into the specialized units of British police forces that employ canine partners in their operations. The episode highlights the contrasting experiences of veteran police spaniel Diesel and the eager newcomer, Billy. Viewers witness the meticulous training and the high-stakes reality of drug raids, as demonstrated by the hunt for hidden heroin and the discovery of a loaded revolver and stun gun during a crackdown on knives and drugs. The interactions between the dogs and their handlers, such as PC Adele Gibson and PC Derek Beattie, provide an intimate glimpse into the partnership between human and animal in law enforcement. While the program focuses on specific incidents, it effectively illustrates the crucial role these highly trained dogs play in ensuring officer safety and disrupting criminal activity.
