ARES 11

Cinemavixion Review

In "Ares 11," director Robert Goodrich crafts a tense, claustrophobic survival thriller set against the vast backdrop of a future solar system war. Released in 2016, the film plunges four crew members into an existential crisis when their spacecraft is crippled, leaving them with a dwindling air supply. The narrative masterfully explores the psychological toll of such extreme circumstances, forcing characters to confront their own morality and the bonds of loyalty. Goodrich, who also penned the script, elicits compelling performances from his cast, particularly as the confined space amplifies their desperation and paranoia. While the film may not boast the spectacle of larger-budget sci-fi, its strength lies in its intimate focus on human nature under duress. "Ares 11" is a thought-provoking examination of sacrifice and betrayal, urging audiences to ponder what they might do when survival is the only currency.
