AQUASLASH: BLOODBATH

Cinemavixion Review

Renaud Gauthier's 'AQUASLASH: BLOODBATH' plunges viewers into a nostalgic yet terrifying descent into a seemingly innocent '80s-themed graduation party. Set against the decaying backdrop of the Wet Valley water park, the film cleverly subverts expectations of a carefree celebration. As teenagers revel in their newfound freedom, a sinister presence turns the aquatic attractions into instruments of brutal mayhem. Gauthier masterfully builds suspense, transforming the familiar thrills of water slides into a nightmarish gauntlet. The narrative cleverly weaves a whodunit element, keeping audiences guessing amidst the escalating gore. While leaning into slasher tropes, the film offers a surprisingly sharp commentary on youthful exuberance meeting unexpected, visceral horror. It's a vibrant, bloody homage to a bygone era of horror cinema, executed with a fresh, modern sensibility.
