APPLEWOOD: HOUSE OF SECRETS

Cinemavixion Review

In "Applewood: House of Secrets," director Kaitlynn grapples with more than just the renovation of a historic Georgia mansion. Following the death of her husband, she inherits his dream project, Applewood, a sprawling estate steeped in history and, it seems, secrets. As Kaitlynn navigates her own profound grief, the house itself begins to stir memories of a past era, manifesting as unsettling flashbacks. The narrative pivots on the unsolved mystery of Lucy Applewood, a young girl who vanished decades prior. The film masterfully intertwines Kaitlynn's personal struggle with the echoes of the past, posing the question of whether uncovering Lucy's fate can help Kaitlynn confront her own loss. The performances, particularly by Kate Dailey in the lead role, anchor the emotional weight of this atmospheric thriller.
