APE VS MONSTER

Cinemavixion Review

This creature feature, 'Ape vs. Monster,' plunges viewers into a chaotic battle of titanic proportions. Directed by Daniel Lusko, the film pits a genetically mutated ape against an equally colossal gila monster, a premise that promises unadulterated B-movie mayhem. While the plot, involving an ape crash-landing on Earth and triggering a chain reaction of monstrous growth, leans heavily into schlocky sci-fi tropes, it delivers on its promise of kaiju-style destruction. The performances, particularly from the ensemble cast including Eric Roberts, navigate the absurdity with a straight face, enhancing the film's cult potential. With its low IMDb rating of 2.2, 'Ape vs. Monster' is clearly aimed at audiences who revel in the gloriously bad, offering a straightforward, action-packed spectacle that doesn't pretend to be anything more than a giant monster brawl.
