APE CANYON

Cinemavixion Review

"Ape Canyon" offers a refreshingly offbeat take on the quarter-life crisis, blending existential angst with a quirky Bigfoot-hunting expedition. The film's strength lies in its character dynamics, particularly the sibling relationship that anchors the narrative amidst the absurdity. While the premise might sound outlandish, the execution grounds it in relatable themes of self-discovery and familial obligation. The performances, especially from the lead actors portraying the siblings, are commendable, navigating the comedic and dramatic beats with sincerity. Director Joshua Land crafts a visually distinct experience, managing to imbue the somewhat unconventional quest with a surprising amount of heart. It’s a film that encourages audiences to embrace the strange journeys we undertake in search of meaning, even if that search leads us to the woods in pursuit of a legendary creature.
