ANOTHER MOTHER

Cinemavixion Review

In "Another Mother," director Anthony C. Ferrante crafts a suspenseful thriller that delves into the anxieties of blended families and the unsettling unknown. The film centers on Kristen Carter, a hospitality queen whose excitement for her upcoming wedding to Ryan Munson and her new role as a mother to his daughter, Lisa, is overshadowed by increasingly disturbing occurrences. Alex McKenna delivers a compelling performance as Kristen, navigating the descent from hopeful bride-to-be to a woman questioning her safety and sanity. Adam Huss provides solid support as the seemingly charming fiancé, Ryan, whose presence becomes increasingly ambiguous as the tension mounts. While the plot may tread familiar ground in the psychological thriller genre, Ferrante effectively builds an atmosphere of dread, making "Another Mother" a watchable, if somewhat conventional, exploration of domestic unease and the dark secrets that can lurk beneath the surface of idyllic relationships. The film's relatively short runtime keeps the pacing brisk, ensuring that the suspense rarely falters.
