ANIMAL IMITATORS

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Animal Imitators,' director Justin Pemberton delves into a fascinating intersection of human aspiration and biological reality. The film explores the growing movement of individuals who, driven by a profound sense of disconnect, seek to transcend their human form through extensive body modification. Pemberton's lens captures the raw intensity of this pursuit, questioning the very essence of identity and the boundaries we accept as natural. It's a thought-provoking examination of self-creation and the deep-seated desire to embody an inner animal, challenging viewers to consider what it truly means to be human in an era of unprecedented technological and personal transformation. The documentary offers a compelling, albeit sometimes unsettling, glimpse into a subculture pushing the limits of nature and self.
