ANIMAL 2

Cinemavixion Review

Ryan Combs delivers a gritty continuation of the "Animal" saga with "Animal 2." Ving Rhames returns as James "Animal" Allen, a man ensnared by his past and the machinations of the prison system. The narrative plunges us into the brutal realities of incarceration, where a riot forces a transfer and a new crisis emerges: James Jr. framed for murder. Rhames powerfully embodies Animal's desperation as he's blackmailed back into the fight, a descent into his former life to protect his son. The film effectively balances the visceral action with the emotional stakes of family loyalty and redemption, further explored through Darius's efforts on the outside. While the plot centers on a familiar crime drama framework, the performances and the raw portrayal of prison life lend it a compelling edge. A solid entry for fans of urban crime thrillers.
