ANGEL'S PERCH

Cinemavixion Review

Charles Haine's "Angel's Perch" offers a poignant exploration of memory, loss, and the indelible pull of home. The film masterfully navigates the complexities of familial obligation as Jack, a successful architect, returns to his rural West Virginia roots to care for his grandmother, Polly, who suffers from Alzheimer's. The narrative unfolds with quiet intensity, mirroring Jack's internal struggle between a burgeoning career opportunity and the resurfacing of painful personal memories. The picturesque setting of Cass, WV, serves as a backdrop for this intimate drama, highlighting the delicate interplay between past and present. Featuring strong performances from its ensemble cast, including Joyce Van Patten and Ally Walker, "Angel's Perch" is a moving testament to the enduring power of family and the courage it takes to confront one's history to find peace. Its resonance lies in its honest portrayal of the challenges of aging and the profound impact of our origins.
