AMONG RAVENS

Cinemavixion Review

Russell Friedenberg's "Among Ravens" offers a poignant and introspective look into the complexities of family dynamics, as seen through the innocent eyes of a nine-year-old girl. Set against the backdrop of a long holiday weekend at a country home, the film masterfully peels back the layers of its characters, exposing their flaws and unspoken issues. The narrative, enriched by the external data's plot details, reveals a gathering of individuals grappling with relationship troubles and personal insecurities, from a struggling author to a seemingly stable couple whose foundations are tested. While the film may have garnered a mixed critical reception, as indicated by its ratings, its strength lies in its sensitive portrayal of human vulnerability and the subtle, often uncomfortable, truths that emerge when families are forced into close proximity. The performances, particularly from the central cast, are commendable in navigating these delicate emotional landscapes, making "Among Ravens" a compelling, albeit challenging, exploration of the bonds that tie us together.
