AMITYVILLE POLTERGEIST

Cinemavixion Review

Calvin Morie McCarthy's "An Amityville Poltergeist" plunges viewers into a chilling weekend of supernatural terror, as a young man accepts a house-sitting gig that quickly devolves into a nightmare. The film masterfully builds suspense, playing on the inherent unease of an empty, potentially haunted dwelling. While the narrative treads familiar ground within the Amityville lore, McCarthy injects a fresh sense of dread through unsettling imagery and a palpable atmosphere of fear. The performances, particularly from the young protagonist, anchor the escalating horror, making his descent into a weekend of frights a compelling watch for fans of the genre. Despite its modest production, the film delivers a potent dose of scares, proving that a well-crafted haunted house story can still leave a lasting impression.
