AMERICAN SAMURAI

Cinemavixion Review

In "American Samurai," director Nathan Willard crafts a near-future narrative that, while familiar in its "us vs. them" premise, offers a compelling exploration of survival and sacrifice. The film centers on a young samurai and her sensei, portrayed with earnest conviction by Rosa Fortuny and Larkin Hastings respectively, who find themselves defending a survivor camp against an external threat. Jeremiah Carlton adds a layer of menace as the relentless killer dispatched from a distant, affluent space colony. While the plot may lean into established tropes, the action sequences are competently executed, and the underlying themes of loyalty and resilience resonate. The film's strength lies in its focused portrayal of a desperate struggle for existence, making it a worthy watch for fans of futuristic action with a martial arts core.
