AMERICAN RESCUE SQUAD

Cinemavixion Review

Elliot Diviney's "American Rescue Squad" delivers a vibrant, if unconventional, cinematic experience. This 2015 action-comedy musical plunges viewers into a high-stakes narrative where a retired janitor must assemble a team of forgotten superheroes to thwart the nefarious "Alliance." The plot, centered on the rescue of the "Taxpayer" from a public crucifixion, is ambitious, blending political commentary with superheroics. Diviney masterfully weaves comedic and action-packed musical numbers throughout the chaos, creating a unique spectacle. The performances by Tony D. Czech, Douglas Sidney, and KariAnn Christensen anchor the film's wild premise. While its IMDb rating of 6.0 suggests a mixed reception, the film's sheer audacity and genre-bending approach make it a noteworthy watch for those seeking something beyond the ordinary superhero fare.
