Cinemavixion Review

AMERICAN HERETICS is a compelling documentary that delves into the heart of the Bible Belt, spotlighting a courageous group of ministers, congregations, and community leaders who are bravely challenging fundamentalist Christian doctrine. Directed by Catherine Lynn Butler, the film introduces us to individuals labeled as 'heretics' for embracing a Gospel of Inclusion, rejecting the notion of faith as a weapon forged by literal biblical interpretations. The documentary offers a poignant look at the struggle for a more progressive and accepting form of Christianity, showcasing the resilience and conviction of those who dare to reinterpret their faith for a modern world. It is a thought-provoking exploration of belief, community, and the courage to stand against deeply entrenched dogma.
