AMAZON QUEEN

Cinemavixion Review

Embark on a perilous journey up the Rio Negro with "Amazon Queen," a 2021 thriller that transforms an idyllic riverboat cruise into a tense battle for survival. Directed by Marlin Darrah, the film plunges viewers into the breathtaking, yet unforgiving, Amazon rainforest, where a group of tourists finds themselves at the mercy of desperate thieves. The narrative cleverly interweaves the lush, exotic setting with a gripping hostage situation, as the passengers and crew, led by a resourceful captain, must band together to outwit their captors. While the plot hinges on a treasure hunt gone awry, the true strength of "Amazon Queen" lies in its atmospheric tension and the stark contrast between the serene beauty of the jungle and the escalating human drama. With a solid cast including Carly Diamond Stone and Carson Grant, the film offers a compelling, if at times harrowing, cinematic expedition into the heart of danger.
