ALTA VISTA

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Alta Vista,' director Joe Clarke crafts a poignant narrative centered on a screenwriter grappling with profound grief and the seductive, yet dangerous, allure of Hollywood's underbelly. The film masterfully intertwines the personal tragedy of paternal loss with the darker machinations of the film industry. Clarke, who also stars in the lead role, delivers a compelling performance, anchoring the film with emotional depth. The supporting cast, including Stacey Scowley and Tanika 'Tea' Vickers, provides solid performances that enhance the film's gritty atmosphere. 'Alta Vista' is a thoughtful exploration of coping mechanisms and the compromises one might make when caught between sorrow and ambition, offering a nuanced look at the human condition within a stylish, albeit grim, cinematic landscape.
