ALONE IN THE DARK II

Cinemavixion Review

Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer's 'Alone in the Dark II' plunges viewers into a world where the veil between reality and the supernatural thins with the setting sun. The film follows paranormal investigator Edward Carnby, portrayed with a grim determination, as he confronts ancient evils lurking in the shadows. While the narrative leans into familiar horror tropes, the direction attempts to build a palpable sense of dread, amplified by the creature designs that emerge from the darkness. The performances, particularly from Lance Henriksen, add a layer of gravitas to the proceedings. Although it may not redefine the genre, 'Alone in the Dark II' offers a serviceable descent into terror for fans of supernatural thrillers, exploring themes of humanity's fragile defense against encroaching darkness.
