ALLA RIVOLUZIONE SULLA 2 CAVALLI

Cinemavixion Review

Maurizio Sciarra's 'Alla Rivoluzione Sulla 2 Cavalli' embarks on a compelling journey, both literal and metaphorical. Set against the backdrop of the 1974 Carnation Revolution in Lisbon, the film follows three lifelong friends who decide to traverse the distance from Paris to the Portuguese capital in their trusty, and perhaps symbolic, Citroën 2 CV. This road trip narrative promises to explore themes of friendship, freedom, and the spirit of a pivotal historical moment. While the film's premise is rich with potential, its execution hinges on the chemistry between its leads, Andoni Gracia, Georges Moustaki, and Adriano Giannini, and Sciarra's ability to weave personal journeys with the grand sweep of history. The choice of a humble 2 CV as their chariot suggests a focus on the everyday heroes and the simple means by which significant change can be embraced. It's a film that invites viewers to reflect on the power of collective action and the enduring bonds of camaraderie, all while navigating the open road towards a newly liberated future.
