ALIVE

Cinemavixion Review

David Marantz's 'Alive' plunges viewers into a post-apocalyptic landscape where survival hinges on desperate measures and the ever-present threat of infection. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of dread, following Helen and her companions as they navigate a world ravaged by a zombie-like contagion. The narrative intensifies as Barney's deteriorating condition forces impossible choices upon the group, leading them to a secluded house with a mysterious occupant. Marantz expertly balances visceral horror with the raw emotional toll of loss and the fierce instinct to protect loved ones. While the Rotten Tomatoes score of 88% suggests critical acclaim, the IMDb rating of 3.9 indicates a polarizing reception. Nevertheless, 'Alive' is a compelling exploration of humanity's resilience in the face of overwhelming adversity, anchored by strong performances and a chillingly plausible scenario.
