ALICE - THE DARKER SIDE OF THE MIRROR

Cinemavixion Review

Zach Hamer's "Alice - The Darker Side of the Mirror" reimagines the classic tale in the brooding landscape of the early 20th-century Pacific Northwest. Set in 1905, the film introduces a teenage Alice, newly transplanted to this atmospheric region, who stumbles upon a peculiar rabbit hole. This portal transports her to a Wonderland that is less whimsical and more a reflection of the era's societal undercurrents, populated by characters drawn from turn-of-the-century American and Pacific Northwest life. The film offers a darker, more mature interpretation of the familiar narrative, exploring themes through a uniquely regional and historical lens.
