AGE OF LIGHT - WHAT WERE THE GREATEST STRUCTURES OF THE DARK AGES?
Cinemavixion Review
The documentary "Age Of Light - What Were The Greatest Structures Of The Dark Ages?" challenges the long-held perception of the post-Roman era as a period of decline. Presenter Waldemar Januszczak makes a compelling case that this era, often mislabeled the 'Dark Ages,' was in fact a vibrant period of artistic and intellectual innovation. Januszczak embarks on an ambitious journey across continents, exploring renowned collections and uncovering overlooked artistic treasures. The series posits that the emergence of new ideas and religions spurred significant artistic evolution, transforming a supposed 'darkness' into an 'age of light.' This visually rich exploration invites viewers to reconsider historical narratives and appreciate the dynamic creativity of a misunderstood epoch.
