AGE OF ICE

Cinemavixion Review

Emile Edwin Smith's "Age of Ice" plunges viewers into a terrifyingly plausible near-future scenario where geological upheaval triggers a rapid descent into a new Ice Age. The film masterfully captures the urgency of survival as a vacationing family in Egypt finds themselves caught in a catastrophic climate shift. As massive earthquakes split the Arabian tectonic plate, subzero temperatures descend with lethal speed, transforming familiar landscapes into frozen wastelands. The narrative excels in depicting the desperate race against time, forcing the protagonists to battle not only the encroaching ice but also the breakdown of societal order. While the film's IMDb rating suggests a challenging reception, its premise and the execution of its disaster elements offer a compelling, albeit chilling, cinematic experience that explores humanity's vulnerability in the face of extreme environmental change.
