ABOUT SCOUT

Cinemavixion Review

Laurie Weltz's "About Scout" is a poignant and unexpectedly charming road trip narrative that explores the complexities of found family. The film centers on Scout, a fiercely independent young girl, who embarks on a cross-Texas journey with a troubled young man. Their quest to reunite Scout with her sister becomes a profound exploration of connection and resilience. While the local data notes a cast including India Ennenga, Nikki Reed, Danny Glover, and Jane Seymour, the external data highlights India Ennenga and James Frecheville, suggesting potential variations in promotional materials or regional releases. The external data also provides a 2015 release year and critical reception, including a 6.5 IMDb rating and a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes, underscoring its status as a noteworthy indie drama. Weltz masterfully balances the film's darker themes with moments of genuine humor and heart, making "About Scout" a compelling watch for those seeking stories of unconventional bonds.
