ABOUT HOPE

Cinemavixion Review

David D. Dietrich's "About Hope" (2020) offers a gentle exploration of romantic discovery, anchored by a sincere performance from Justin Ray as Thomas McKenzie. The film posits that the idealized partner we envision might not be the one who truly completes us, a theme beautifully illustrated as Thomas navigates his interest in two distinct women. Christine Juarbe and Claire Bermingham deliver nuanced portrayals, each offering a different facet of potential connection. While the film garnered modest attention, its strength lies in its relatable premise and the quiet unfolding of its characters' journeys. With a runtime of 91 minutes, "About Hope" provides a sweet, if understated, reflection on love and self-realization, making it a pleasant watch for those seeking a thoughtful romantic comedy-drama.
