ABOMINABLE

Cinemavixion Review

Ryan Schifrin's 2006 film "Abominable" plunges viewers into a chilling tale of isolation and primal fear. Following a man recovering from a debilitating climbing accident in a remote cabin, the narrative masterfully builds suspense as he becomes the sole witness to a terrifying, legendary creature. The film expertly uses its secluded setting to amplify the protagonist's vulnerability, creating an atmosphere thick with dread. Matt McCoy delivers a compelling performance, anchoring the story with a raw portrayal of a man grappling with both physical trauma and an unbelievable threat. While the creature design and some plot elements lean into familiar tropes of the genre, "Abominable" succeeds through its committed direction and effective tension-building, offering a solid entry for fans of creature features and wilderness horror.
