ABEL FERRARA'S THE KILLER

Cinemavixion Review

Abel Ferrara's 'The Killer' plunges into the psychological abyss of an artist whose creative struggles intertwine with a descent into madness. Set against the gritty backdrop of New York, the film masterfully portrays a protagonist consumed by financial anxieties and the pressures of his art. As his sanity erodes, he embarks on a terrifying nocturnal odyssey, randomly targeting the city's marginalized with chilling brutality. Ferrara's unflinching direction captures a raw, visceral portrait of urban decay and the dark impulses that can surface when desperation takes hold. The film is a stark exploration of alienation and the violent manifestations of a fractured psyche, offering a disturbing yet compelling glimpse into the underbelly of the human condition.
