A YEAR AND CHANGE

Cinemavixion Review

Stephen Suettinger's "A Year and Change" is a poignant exploration of redemption and second chances, anchored by a compelling performance from Bryan Greenberg. The film follows Owen, a man at a crossroads after a New Year's Eve incident prompts a drastic reevaluation of his life. As Owen endeavors to reconnect with his estranged son, mend fractured friendships, and find love with Vera (Claire van der Boom), the narrative delves into themes of loss, personal growth, and the courage it takes to confront one's past. While the film may not have garnered major awards, its strength lies in its intimate portrayal of human connection and the quiet resilience of the human spirit. T.R. Knight also delivers a solid supporting performance, adding depth to the ensemble. "A Year and Change" offers a thoughtful and ultimately hopeful perspective on rebuilding one's life, making it a worthwhile watch for those seeking a character-driven drama.
