A WRINKLE IN TIME

Cinemavixion Review

"A Wrinkle in Time" embarks on an ambitious journey through the cosmos, adapting Madeleine L'Engle's beloved novel for the screen. Directed by Ava DuVernay, the film centers on Meg Murry, a teenager grappling with loss and self-doubt, who is thrust into an interdimensional adventure to find her missing father. Storm Reid delivers a compelling performance as Meg, supported by a stellar cast including Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon as the enigmatic Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. While the visual spectacle is undeniable, offering a vibrant tapestry of fantastical worlds, the narrative occasionally struggles to balance its profound themes of love, conformity, and individuality with the pacing required for a grand adventure. Despite a mixed critical reception, the film's earnest exploration of complex ideas and its commitment to diverse representation make it a noteworthy cinematic experience for younger audiences and families seeking a story that dares to imagine the impossible.
