A TWISTED TALE

Cinemavixion Review

Susan Engel's "A Twisted Tale" plunges viewers into a chilling narrative set against the backdrop of a seemingly serene hippie camp. The film follows a group of troubled teenagers seeking solace, only to become ensnared by the camp's ominous legend of the FireLady. As their fascination grows, they inadvertently awaken a restless spirit, transforming their quest for peace into a desperate struggle for survival. Engel masterfully builds suspense, weaving a tale that explores the darker side of folklore and the unsettling consequences of unchecked curiosity. The performances from Jazmyne Van Houten, Cecilianna Arriola, and Danielle Leuschen anchor the story, bringing a compelling intensity to their characters' descent into fear. While the camp promises tranquility, it becomes a crucible for ancient terror, making "A Twisted Tale" a disquieting exploration of how legends can take on a life of their own.
