A SUMMER TO REMEMBER

Cinemavixion Review

Martin Wood's "A Summer to Remember" (2018) offers a pleasant, if predictable, romantic escape. Catherine Bell stars as Dr. Jessica, an emergency room physician whose demanding career leaves little room for personal fulfillment. Her trip to Fiji becomes a potential turning point when she encounters both the workaholic Trevor and the more laid-back resort co-owner, Will. Bell, alongside Cameron Mathison as Will, delivers a performance that navigates the familiar territory of a woman torn between a demanding profession and the allure of a simpler, more tranquil life. While the narrative treads a well-worn path of romantic entanglements, the film's tropical setting and the chemistry between the leads provide a charming backdrop. It's a gentle reminder that sometimes, the most profound discoveries are made when one steps away from the chaos and embraces the possibility of a different kind of future.
