A SUMMER TO REMEMBER

Cinemavixion Review

Martin Wood's "A Summer to Remember" offers a gentle exploration of life's pivotal choices, set against the idyllic backdrop of Fiji. Catherine Bell delivers a nuanced performance as Jessica, an emergency room doctor whose demanding career clashes with her yearning for a more balanced existence. The narrative thoughtfully contrasts the ambition of her partner, Trevor, with the serene presence of Will, a resort co-owner who embodies tranquility. Bell skillfully navigates Jessica's internal conflict, portraying the allure of both passionate dedication and peaceful contentment. The film, while perhaps leaning towards a familiar romantic comedy structure, succeeds in its portrayal of a woman seeking her own definition of happiness. Its charm lies in its relatable dilemma and the sun-drenched setting, making it a pleasant, reflective watch for those who appreciate stories about finding one's true path.
