A SPELL ON YOU

Cinemavixion Review

Justin Hardy's 2015 romantic comedy, "A Spell on You," offers a relatable, albeit at times meandering, exploration of contemporary dating woes. The film centers on a young woman whose professional life and late-night escapades—marked by impulsive decisions and a heavy dose of alcohol—serve as a backdrop to her existential quest for love and self-understanding. Sarah Jayne Butler, Georgia Maguire, and Royce Pierreson anchor the narrative with performances that capture the awkward humor and bittersweet realities of millennial relationships. While the film doesn't shy away from the messier aspects of modern romance, it ultimately aims to find the fleeting magic within the chaos. With a runtime of 89 minutes and a 5.9 rating on IMDb, "A Spell on You" provides an honest, if unpolished, reflection on the search for connection in today's world.
