A ROYAL COUP: THE BLOODY FALL OF HOUSE SHAH

Cinemavixion Review

In 2008, Nepal witnessed a seismic shift as its centuries-old monarchy, the House of Shah, was unceremoniously dismantled. This documentary delves into the dramatic and often bloody events that led to this profound transformation, charting the swift, almost shocking, transition from kingdom to republic. The narrative explores the intricate web of bloodshed, betrayal, and political intrigue that defined this era, leaving audiences with a compelling, albeit incomplete, picture of a nation forging a new identity. While the film captures the raw drama of the moment, it also underscores the lingering questions and uncertainties that inevitably accompany such a monumental societal upheaval, prompting reflection on the path ahead for Nepal.
