A RISING TIDE

Cinemavixion Review

Ben Hickernell's "A Rising Tide" is a poignant drama that navigates the turbulent waters of personal loss and ambitious recovery. Set against the backdrop of Hurricane Sandy's devastation, the film centers on Sam Rama, a young chef whose family's legacy in Atlantic City is swept away by the storm. The narrative compellingly charts Sam's growth as he confronts the immense challenge of rebuilding not just a business, but his own life. Hunter Parrish delivers a nuanced performance as Sam, capturing the character's vulnerability and burgeoning resilience. Ashley Hinshaw and Tim Daly provide strong support, adding layers to Sam's journey of risk and redemption. While the film explores themes of business acumen and romantic entanglement, its true strength lies in its exploration of human connection and the realization that true investment often transcends financial gain. "A Rising Tide" offers a heartfelt look at overcoming adversity and finding hope in the aftermath of destruction, making it a commendable watch for those who appreciate character-driven stories.
