A PRAYER FOR THE DAMNED

Cinemavixion Review

Joe Cornet's "A Prayer For the Damned" plunges viewers into the dusty, post-Civil War American West, a territory ripe with both opportunity and peril. The narrative skillfully weaves a tale of a quest for a lost Confederate fortune, bringing together a trio of characters driven by love and hate. The film's strength lies in its atmospheric portrayal of a peculiar New Mexico town, serving as a crucible for its protagonists. Performances, particularly from Cornet himself, Dianna Renée, and Curt Lambert, anchor the dramatic tensions effectively. While the IMDb rating suggests a divisive reception, the film's commitment to its Western roots and its exploration of complex human motivations offer a compelling, albeit dark, cinematic experience worth exploring for fans of the genre.
