A MONSTER IN PARIS

Cinemavixion Review

In the heart of Belle Époque Paris, 'A Monster in Paris' unfolds as a charming animated musical that cleverly disguises its fantastical narrative with a tale of unlikely friendship and societal prejudice. Director Bibo Bergeron crafts a visually stunning rendition of the city, brought to life with vibrant animation and a whimsical score. The story centers on a gentle giant, accidentally created through scientific mishap, who becomes the subject of public fear. Yet, beneath the surface of this 'monster' lies a sensitive soul, beautifully voiced by Matthieu Chedid, whose performance, along with the ensemble cast including Vanessa Paradis and Gad Elmaleh, imbues the characters with warmth and depth. The film masterfully balances moments of thrilling adventure with poignant reflections on acceptance and bravery, making it a delightful cinematic experience for all ages. Its critical acclaim, including a strong Rotten Tomatoes score, is well-deserved, solidifying its place as a modern animated classic.
