Camillo Bazzoni's "A Long Ride From Hell" presents a stark, unforgiving vision of the Old West, serving as the final cinematic outing for the iconic Steve Reeves. Reeves, stepping away from the heroic roles that defined his career, takes on a more rugged persona in this tale of wrongful imprisonment and vengeful escape. The narrative, loosely adapted from Gordon D. Shirreffs' novel "Judas Gun," plunges into the brutal realities of life and the harsh justice system of the era. Reeves himself had a significant hand in financing and co-writing the film, a bold move fueled by the commercial success of other spaghetti westerns.
