A KILLING AFFAIR

Cinemavixion Review

David Saperstein's 'A Killing Affair' plunges into the murky depths of suspicion and desire in rural West Virginia. Kathy Baker delivers a compelling performance as a widow grappling with grief and a nascent, dangerous attraction to a drifter, played with brooding intensity by Peter Weller. The film masterfully navigates the precarious line between vulnerability and menace, as the protagonist attempts to uncover the truth about her husband's demise while falling for the prime suspect. John Glover adds a layer of unsettling unease to the narrative, further complicating the central relationship. Saperstein crafts a tense, character-driven thriller that explores the complexities of trust and the primal forces that can bind two souls together in the shadow of a potential crime. The film's atmospheric setting and strong performances make it a captivating, albeit somber, cinematic experience.
