A HORSE STORY

Cinemavixion Review

John Rogers' "A Horse Story" (2016) offers a whimsical journey into the imagination, centered on young Monica and her remarkable steed, Champion. The narrative takes a delightful turn when Champion reveals the extraordinary ability of horses to communicate, challenging the traditions of his kind. This premise sets the stage for a heartwarming exploration of identity and self-discovery, not just for Champion as he ponders his future, but also for Monica as she navigates her own path. While the film may not boast major awards or widespread critical acclaim, its charm lies in its gentle storytelling and its ability to spark wonder. Featuring performances from Jackie R. Jacobson and Sarah Lieving, "A Horse Story" is a sweet, family-friendly fantasy that encourages viewers, young and old, to embrace their unique journeys and the unexpected friendships that can shape them.
