A HAUNTING IN RAVENWOOD

Cinemavixion Review

Calvin Morie McCarthy's "A Haunting in Ravenwood" plunges viewers into a chilling domestic gothic tale. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of escalating dread as a newlywed couple settles into a house steeped in the memory of the husband's late wife. The meticulously maintained flowers serve as a constant, unsettling reminder of the past, blurring the lines between grief and the supernatural. Airisa Durand delivers a compelling performance as the new wife, whose grip on reality is tested by increasingly eerie occurrences. McCarthy's direction skillfully builds psychological tension, leaving the audience to question whether the disturbances are external or born from the protagonist's own fracturing psyche. This is a slow-burn horror that preys on unease and the unsettling nature of memory, offering a thought-provoking exploration of loss and paranoia.
