A CHRISTMAS WITHOUT SNOW

Cinemavixion Review

In 'A Christmas Without Snow', John Korty crafts a poignant drama about resilience and the search for belonging during the holiday season. The film follows Zoe Jensen, a woman embarking on a new chapter after divorce, who finds solace and unexpected challenges within the choir of a local church in San Francisco. The narrative expertly balances Zoe's personal journey with the collective ambition of the choir as they undertake the demanding task of rehearsing Handel's Messiah. The friction between Zoe and the perfectionist choirmaster serves as a central dramatic engine, highlighting themes of artistic integrity and personal growth. While the film may not be a traditional festive spectacle, it offers a mature and emotionally resonant exploration of community and self-discovery, making it a worthy watch for those seeking depth in their holiday cinema.
