A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG

Cinemavixion Review

Jason Headley's 2017 comedic caper, "A Bad Idea Gone Wrong," offers a surprisingly charming take on the home invasion trope. The film centers on two bumbling thieves whose poorly conceived heist takes an unexpected turn when they find themselves trapped inside the very house they intended to rob. Their predicament deepens with the arrival of an equally unprepared house-sitter, leading to a series of increasingly absurd and humorous interactions. Boasting a tight runtime of 85 minutes, the movie excels in its character development and witty dialogue. The chemistry between the leads, Matt Jones and Will Rogers, is palpable, as they navigate their escalating misfortunes. Eleanore Pienta as the unexpected third party to their misadventure provides a delightful counterpoint to the duo's escalating panic. While specific box office figures and critical acclaim numbers are scarce, "A Bad Idea Gone Wrong" has garnered positive attention, with Rotten Tomatoes noting an 80% approval rating. It's a testament to the film's ability to blend suspense with genuine laughs, proving that sometimes, the most entertaining outcomes arise from the worst-laid plans. This indie gem is a delightful watch for those seeking a smart, character-driven comedy with a unique premise.
