A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG

Cinemavixion Review

Jason Headley's "A Bad Idea Gone Wrong" is a refreshingly witty and charming caper that proves even the most ill-conceived plans can lead to unexpected connections. This award-winning comedy, released in 2017, centers on two amateur thieves, Marlon and Leo, whose attempt at a simple house burglary quickly devolves into a chaotic hostage situation. Their predicament is amplified by the accidental activation of the security system, trapping them inside with an unsuspecting house-sitter, Darcy. The film masterfully blends escalating tension with genuinely hilarious moments, fueled by the awkward dynamic between the bumbling criminals and their unwilling captive. What begins as a heist gone awry blossoms into a narrative exploring themes of friendship, failure, and the surprising intimacy that can arise from shared adversity. With a strong performance from its lead cast, including Matt Jones, Will Rogers, and Eleanore Pienta, "A Bad Idea Gone Wrong" is a delightful exploration of human interaction under pressure, earning an impressive 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
