$450,000 BUDGET – CAN THIS COUPLE BUILD A HOLIDAY HOME IN 100 DAYS?

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary chronicles the ambitious undertaking of Hamish and Anita, a couple who set out to construct their holiday home, or 'Bach,' in Kuratau, New Zealand. Faced with a formidable 100-day timeline and a $450,000 budget, their project immediately encountered financial obstacles as initial cost projections far exceeded their allocated funds. The narrative follows their strategic pivots, including scaling back their architectural ambitions and engaging a professional designer. A key innovation explored is the use of pre-cut Triboard panels, a method chosen to expedite the construction process and manage expenses effectively. The journey is further complicated by the inherent unpredictability of weather patterns and unforeseen construction challenges, offering a compelling look at the realities of ambitious home-building projects.
